Using Audioconferences Effectively

Chapter Planning:

  • Board meetings: Having a difficult time getting everyone together, particularly for chapters in large geographical areas? Do some of your meetings by teleconferencing.
  • Coordinate with other chapters: Planning events and educational programs can be greatly enhanced by working with neighboring chapters.
  • Committee meetings: Same as board meetings. Save the travel time and get as much accomplished.

As a Way to Deliver Educational Programs:

  • Dial into the RMA audioconferences as a chapter sponsored event. Low cost, high value.
  • Affinity groups or round table discussions via audioconference.

Things to Keep in Mind:

  • Set a time limit. Generally no longer than an hour.
  • If the event is an affinity group or round table, limit the participation to a designated list of attendees.
  • Have an agenda and all other important materials in the hands of the participants in advance.

Contact Names:

  • Regional Manager for your area—either Community Bank (assets below $1 billion) or Large Financial Institution (assets of $1 billion and up).
  • Chapters and Membership staff:
