How to Integrate the CRC in Chapter Planning

Learn and understand what the RMA - CRC program entails. Then, use the newly created brochure about its many benefits and curriculum requirements to integrate the CRC into your chapter offerings.

Contact your RMA regional executive with any and all questions regarding the CRC program and the Chapter Incentive Program that's also available.

  • Promote the value of the RMA - CRC to Associates through board meetings, general meetings, educational classes, and social activities. Get help from RMA members who have already earned the RMA - CRC designation.
  • Have an RMA - CRC committee on your chapter board, or involve your Education/Planning Committee in promotion of the CRC. Use a recent RMA - CRC designee to help you and others on the board to understand what information is needed to successfully sit for the exam.
  • Schedule classes that will enable members to achieve at least twenty (20) continuing education unit ('CEU') credits per year. Use the "RMA Professional Development Catalog for Risk Management and Lending Professional" to help with the scheduling. Have these catalogues available at all the planning sessions.
  • Look to create classes or schedule RMA classes to prepare for RMA - CRC test. Make sure you consider your members and the type of lending they do on a regular basis. For example, if they do mostly tax return lending or real estate lending, they will need to concentrate more on C&I lending.
  • Promote RMA - CRC prep classes to other professionals looking for CEUs also.
  • Promote RMA involvement to get RMA - CRC credits up to nine (9) credits per cycle.
  • Promote chapter meetings to members who already have their RMA - CRC as an effective way to get CEU credit.
  • Create and hold chapter-developed programs/classes for RMA - CRC credit and remember to get these programs approved for CEU credit from your RMA regional executive (RE).
  • Display CRC literature at all classes, meetings, and conferences to promote the RMA - CRC certification.
  • Contact RMA-HQ to get a list of members who've passed the RMA - CRC exam in your chapter's area.
  • Recognize/announce people who've passed the exam at chapter meetings, programs, events, on your Web site and in the chapter newsletter.
  • Create a mailing list of RMA - CRC designees in your chapter area.
  • Inform members about the easy registration process available on the RMAHQ's Web site (www.rmahq.org).
  • Introduce the form for chapter rebate or the code for the chapter rebate so it can be used on the Web site's registration page.
  • Develop an incentive program for passing the exam.
  • Have your chapter's YP group introduce this program among the young bankers.
  • Use Credit Risk Certification (CRC) as a way to promote the many benefits of RMA membership and, in particular, as a way for nonmembers to be members, even if their employing institution is not a member of RMA.
  • Refer individuals to RMAHQ or your RMA RE for information about the body of knowledge or the Web seminars available to help prepare for the RMA - CRC exam
