Leaders are interested in involving senior executives in their chapter activities. Senior executives are no longer regular attendees of chapter general membership meetings for many reasons—time constraints, the topics are not specific to their job functions, and networking with the chapter's general membership may not meet their networking needs. However, there are other programs and activities you can offer to provide this segment of your membership value.
- Senior Executive Roundtables. This gives senior executives access to their peers and an opportunity to focus on issues that are relevant to their job function. If you are interested in offering roundtables ask our Regional Manager for your area—either Community Bank (assets below $3 billion) or Large Financial Institution (assets of $3 billion and up) for the RMA Guide to Sponsoring Local Roundtables and Affinity Groups.
- Senior Executive Advisory Board. Establish an advisory panel of local executives and have them meet twice a year to discuss thoughts or ideas on local RMA activities and thank them for their support and the efforts of the board members from their bank.
- Senior Executive Reception. Host a reception for senior executives only and have a speaker or topic (national or local) of specific interest to them.
- CEO Night. Host an annual dinner spotlighting local CEOs or senior executives with a well known speaker. Offer CEOs and senior executives free admission as a thank you for their support.
- Special Award. Establish an award to be given to a local CEO or senior executive who has provided outstanding support of the local chapter. Publicize this in your local paper or business journal.
- Senior Executive Panel. A general membership program with a panel of local CEOs or senior executives. This type of program will give panelists the opportunity to share their individual and bank's successes, thoughts on major issues facing the industry, and network with their peers. In addition, this program will be valuable to the local membership and are usually well attended.
