Event Description:

Learn how and when to use global cash flow

Course Overview
Global Cash Flow will enhance a lender or analyst's ability to estimate the probability of loan repayment from a small to medium sized business entity as borrower and the owners and/or guarantors, or vice versa.

This one-day course will teach participants how to make a comprehensive loan decision by combining the information in personal cash flow statements with business income (cash flow available for debt service of the closely held business) and personal debt service combined with business debt service.

This will involve an understanding of the components that comprise a global cash flow (GCF), determining the resources that are needed to construct a global cash flow, understanding income versus cash flow (including balance sheet changes), and the interdependence of the entities.

Who will benefit?
Practicing commercial loan officers and other lending or credit professionals—in areas such as private banking and small business lending—who need to increase their understanding of income tax returns and cash flow will benefit from Global Cash Flow.

You will:

  • Estimate the probability of loan repayment from a business entity as borrower and the individual who owns that business as guarantor, or vice versa (a small business/self-employed situation).
  • Make a comprehensive loan decision by combining the information in personal cash flow statements with business income and personal debt service combined with business debt service.
  • Identify the components that comprise a GCF and determine the resources that are needed to construct a GCF.
  • Quantify income versus cash flow.
  • Understand the interdependence of the entities.
  • Understand how and when to use GCF.

Prerequisites
Participants should have completed RMA's Analyzing Personal Financial Statements and Tax Returns and Analyzing Business Tax Returns, or have a basic knowledge of personal tax returns, cash flow, and business financial statements and related ratios and cash flow.
