Follow RMA's Road to Success
In developing and validating the 126-question (130 on the Canadian version of the exam), multiple-choice exam, RMA worked with a committee of industry experts from a wide cross-section of banks—large and small, rural and urban, U.S. and Canadian. To pass the exam, you'll need to:

Refer to the RMA Body of Knowledge, Credit Glossary, and Ratios that RMA will provide you when you register in order to refresh your awareness of credit fundamentals and best practices.

  1. Take the CRC Practice Exam in order to become familiar with the types of subject matter that will be on the exam and to sharpen your test taking skills.
  2. Study to fill in any knowledge gaps.
  3. Enroll (optional) in the RMA-CRC web seminar series designed to refresh and focus your skills. You will be e-mailed registration information upon approval of your application.
  4. Successfully complete a rigorous five-hour, computer-based examination.

Continue Your Education with RMA
To ensure that you stay current in the credit risk field, RMA requires you to complete 60 continuing education credits every three years. The three-year period starts with the year you receive certification. Ongoing education assures that you are continuing the commitment you began when you first passed the certification exam.

Exam Quality Ensured
To ensure top quality, RMA selected IBM to participate in the development of the RMA-CRC. IBM's highly skilled and experienced psychometricians worked closely with the RMA-CRC Steering Committee to apply a rigorous review of the questions and to ensure the exam's validity and reliability.
