Staffing Commercial Credit Functions: A Survey

In 1985, RMA published Staffing the Commercial Credit Department, its first survey of the tasks and employees in a typical commercial credit department. In the years following the release of the original monograph, we regularly received requests for more current information about the tasks handled in banks' credit areas. Many of those requests centered on how tasks were handled in institutions that had disbanded their credit departments. It became obvious that another look at credit department tasks was warranted.

RMA is pleased to present an update to the statistics and information that were the basis of the first monograph. Staffing Commercial Credit Functions was created from the responses of more than 1,000 bankers to a survey of functions performed in commercial credit departments or other areas of a bank. We expect that the comparative information provided will prove useful.
