7th Annual PASLA/RMA Conference on Asian Securities Lending Summary
The conference, held 2–4 March 2010 at the JW Marriott, in Hong Kong, drew over 250 delegates representing institutions from Asia, Europe, Australia, and the United States. We had a very good turnout during this troubling and tough economic environment—attendance was well over last year's conference attendance.
The conference featured market updates presented by panelists and regulators from Malaysia, Taiwan, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea, there were panels on Indian securities lending and borrowing perspectives, IOSCO and global regulatory updates, issues in tri-party agreements, the growing importance of ETFs, fixed income lending, and the Industry Leaders Panel which included the chairs of the major securities lending associations from around the world. In addition, an update of PASLA’s activities over the past year was given by the PASLA chair Larry Komo of Citi. We were also delighted to have Marc Faber of Marc Faber Limited and the publisher of the Gloom, Doom and Boom Report give the keynote address on the volatility of markets and new paradigms for risk management.
PASLA and RMA thank the moderators and panelists for giving their time and expertise to the business program. We also thank our exhibitors for their appearance and contribution to making the event a success. Finally, a special word of thanks goes out to all of the sponsors for their support of the conference, without which it would not have been possible.

Hope to see you next year in Singapore, tentative date 8–10 March 2011!
Thank you.
