In response to the growing trend among our members to organize their training programs into bank "universities," we have adopted the university model with RMA University.

RMA University encompasses all of RMA’s courses newly organized into curriculum tracks to help lending and credit professionals progress through their careers. The University also includes a variety of electives to provide a well-rounded risk education, as well as all of the informational products and learning events for which RMA is known.

We also provide an online component to our university learning experience, aptly named RMA University Online. With an easy-to-use, interactive interface, RMA University Online provides the flexibility to learn at each individual’s convenience and features the award-winning Lending Decision Process and the brand new Commercial Real Estate Lending Decision Process.

The first series of courses—The Lending Decision Process—offers a sound foundation in the basics of commercial lending and credit. Through web-based, audiovisual features, these courses present the analytical and decision-making techniques needed to make sound credit decisions using financial accounting, financial statement analysis, and cash flow analysis.

Our second series of courses which made their debut last fall —The Commercial Real Estate Lending Decision Process— provides a comprehensive study of commercial real estate lending beginning with a description of CRE loan types and progressing to an understanding of the underwriting process, leases, appraisals, loan structures, and related risks.

Through RMA University, we now offer an exclusive multi-level certificate program, the Credit Skills Certificate Series, which consists of three levels of incremental accomplishments—beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Each level’s curriculum includes both online and traditional classroom courses.

We’re also excited to introduce the Diagnostic Assessment of Commercial Real Estate Credit and Lending Skills. This assessment consists of 60 test questions designed to probe for commercial real estate competency and will help you determine what training, if any, is required to bring personnel up to prescribed levels of knowledge.
