Risk Management Association Announces New Board Leaders, Members

Philadelphia, PA (September 8, 2015)

J. Tol Broome Jr., CRC, has been elected chair of The Risk Management Association (RMA). Helga Houston has been elected vice chair. Their one-year terms began September 1.

Broome, Director of Regional Corporate Banking, BB&T, Winston-Salem, N.C., is a member of RMA’s Credit Risk Council and past chair of the Chapters and Membership Council.

Broome has been in commercial banking for over 30 years, including 21 with BB&T. Prior to his current role, he served as chief commercial credit officer.

Broome graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1983 with a BS in business administration.

Helga Houston is Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer, Huntington National Bank, Columbus, Ohio. She has over 30 years of diversified banking experience in risk management, business development, and client relationships. Prior to joining Huntington, Houston was a partner with Phoenix Global Advisors in Charlotte, N.C.

Houston earned her bachelor’s degree from Westmont College and her MBA from the University of Southern California.

Newly elected to the RMA Board of Directors for three-year terms are:

Thomas E. Freeman, Corporate Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer, SunTrust Banks, Atlanta, Ga.

C. Matthew Lusco, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer, Regions Bank, Birmingham, Ala.

Amanda Norton, Chief Risk Officer, Consumer and Community Banking, JPMorgan Chase, New York, N.Y.
