Current Risks Facing the Banking Industry – the OCC’s Semiannual Risk Perspective

The OCC has issued its latest Semiannual Risk Perspective, for Fall 2018.  This report covers risks facing the banking industry based on data as of June 30, 2018. While this report presents observations solely of the OCC, the viewpoints are shared by all three federal banking regulators. Bankers can use the report’s contents as a guide regarding the risk areas that will be of greatest focus for examiners and supervisors over the next six-month period.

Joining us for this call will be Bob Phelps, OCC Deputy Comptroller for Supervision Risk Management, who will discuss the contents of this latest report, which will include a focus on current credit underwriting risks and the emerging risk posed by the growth in corporate debt. A Q&A session will follow Bob’s formal presentation.
