Now offered as a virtual course, taking place in a virtual classroom setting, Writing the Credit Analysis focuses on skills needed to write an effective credit memorandum, including techniques for creating, analyzing, improving, and reviewing your own credit write-ups. The instructor demonstrates and explains, and the participants will then practice critiquing, writing, and revising credit memorandum excerpts. Through a mix of small group activities, lecture, and active discussions, participants are better prepared to apply the content learned when they return to their jobs.

OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of Writing the Credit Analysis participants will be able to:
• Identify the meaning of the terms clear, concise, and well organized.
• Distinguish between writing that is clear, concise, and well organized and writing that does not meet these criteria.
• Recognize when arguments are logical and evaluate credit risks for the reader, supported by facts and interpretations drawn from the credit analysis.
• Distinguish between arguments that interpret risk and those that provide only elevator analysis.
• Distinguish between analysis that is objective and intellectually honest, and analysis that does not meet these criteria.

Writing the Credit Analysis is designed for credit analysts and loan review staff.
