Academic Market & Assessment Director

To maintain our leadership status and transform into a next-gen association that delivers exceptional member experiences, we need an Academic Market & Assessment Director (“AMAD”) to lead RMA’s Academic Program, which includes Executive Education and RMA’s Assessment and Credentialing.  The AMAD will serve as the Executive staff liaison to the RMA Foundation (separate 501c3) and work in close collaboration with the Director of Professional Development and will report to the Chief Strategy Officer.


  • Build and execute a Business Plan to create a recurring and growing revenue stream from the Academic Market (University and post-secondary).
  • Leads and develops RMA’s Assessment and Certification businesses, with a direct link to RMA’s Professional Development offerings. Responsible to grow revenue streams in coordination with Professional Development and University offerings.
  • Oversee all governance and activities of the RMA Foundation, including the Foundation Board, scholarships and all funding used within RMA’s Academic Program.
  • Develop new Executive Education offerings and programs. Lead and drive success in existing programs.


  • 10+ years of applicable experience
  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience working closely with college/university faculty on program development. Comes with an existing “rolodex” of University contacts.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Academic (University) Market space; how they create programs/curriculum/learning assets and make educational purchases. Experience planning and managing executive education programs a plus.
  • Knowledge of the credentialing market and process. Experience in the development and commercialization of designations (credentials, certifications, badges, etc.)
