Credit Risk Associate

Position Purpose

The Credit Risk Associate works closely with senior credit risk professionals from diverse functional areas to develop programs such as peer-sharing forums, conferences, training workshops and classes, which meet the needs of senior credit risk professionals and their subordinates involved in commercial and consumer lending in RMA member financial institutions.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Initiate ideas, plan, develop and facilitate round tables/forums for various credit risk professionals. Work with Members to form a Steering Committee focused on the creation of the round table or forum agenda and preparation of all correspondence to prospective attendees.
2. For live events; work with internal events department to plan logistics, site selection and dates. Serve as on-site meetings facilitator. For virtual events; plan logistics including identifying appropriate platform, event date, access requirements, and online facilitation of event.
3. Effectively organize, plan and coordinate conferences and other events, as scheduled (either live or virtual). Assist in the development of Steering Committee objectives and act as a resource of execution and follow up. Recruit speakers and assist in planning presentations. Serve as the principal liaison for speakers. Determine if presentations are publishable and make recommendations to the monthly Journal of Lending & Credit Risk Management or other appropriate RMA communication publications or podcasts.
4. Coordinate with Marketing to draft promotional materials for events and identify appropriate distribution channels (i.e. social media, mailing, blog posts).
5. Work collaboratively with other RMA staff, other associations or professional services on joint credit risk program opportunities.
6. Identify, research and recommend new topics for development of programs (courses, seminars, forums, web seminars, thought leadership etc.).
7. May serve as project manager for third party contractors and instructors performing program work. Assist instructors with feedback and implementing any changes in program or materials.
8. Tracks all programs and projects costs and reports information for budget tracking as required.
9. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or related field of study with 5 years of relevant work experience in the Financial Services Industry. Commercial Lending/Commercial Credit experience is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• Organizational skills and proven ability to manage projects from start to finish.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience hosting virtual events such as roundtables, webinars etc.
• This is a high-volume event development & facilitation role which will require the ability to quickly learn RMA products and services and understand complex financial concepts.

Consistently captures and conveys the essence of the communication and leaves the audience with a clear understanding and no ambiguity. Speaks in a compelling manner that holds others' attention. Is a skilled listener.

• Travel for live events required up to 40%
