Global Head of Risk Analysis

Present Job Function: Humberto is global head of risk analysis for Citi’s Institutional Clients Group (ICG) and leads teams across the globe, which deliver best-in-class credit underwriting, portfolio management, and credit administration to ensure the safety and soundness of wholesale lending across Citi.
Previous Employment: Humberto’s prior experience includes having been global head of wholesale credit review, head of global products & operations, and North America region head for wholesale credit review, all within Fundamental Credit Risk Management (FCR). Prior to joining FCR in 2013, he was with ICG Risk Management as global risk portfolio head for media & communications, including gaming. He originally joined Citi as a credit relationship manager, covering mid-corporate clients in the commercial markets division.
Humberto joined Citi in 2007 from M&T Bank, where he spent several years as a coverage banker with a focus on middle market technology and government contracting firms, primarily in the Greater Washington region. He also spent nearly five years in portfolio management with Sigma Group, an emerging markets hedge fund. He began his career with SunTrust Bank as a credit analyst in the commercial banking department.
Education: He holds a BS in economics from Wharton School of Business and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
