Head of Information Technology

Position Purpose 
 
The Head of IT serves on RMA’s Operating Committee and reports to the Chief Financial Officer. This role is responsible for digital products and services and information technology that support RMA’s enterprise goals, which include propelling data driven decision making; enhancing the connected organization, driving ability to act locally and as a network, ensuring risk management and governance, and enabling a digital engagement strategy with RMA members. This is a full-time position based in Philadelphia (potential for Remote position). 
 
Principal Accountabilities  
 

  • Create vision and objectives for technology capabilities that enable business and mission innovation for the organization.
  • Execute on and communicate the company’s technology strategy to management and staff.
  • Develop and implement a project portfolio management structure; lead and ensure that projects are implemented in the developed timelines.
  • Possess an understanding of data and analytics and develop a strategy to fully utilize existing information to create the maximum impact for business and mission stakeholders while also ensuring data privacy and security.
  • Create vision and objectives for transformation of IT processes, capabilities, enterprise architecture, and operating model in support of organizational vision. Design plans and lead cross functional teams to implement initiatives.
  • Proactively collaborate with the operational directors, managers and staff to perform ongoing reviews of each operational area with specific emphasis on improving processes, procedures, use of available systems, training needs, etc.  
  • Establish and maintain effective governance for IT controls.
  • Instill a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality service and products. Mentor and develop staff to achieve their present potential and prepare them for future development and opportunities.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies and advise on how they can be leveraged for the business. Define and execute forward-looking plans to develop relevant new technology skills and capabilities.
  • Participate as a senior leader reflecting the organization’s values and principles to facilitate optimum collaboration, communication and service. Exemplify RMA’s Culture Statement through words and actions.
  • Responsible for RMA’s e-commerce systems and customer transactional experience.
  • Oversee compliance plans/strategies (PCI, GDPR, etc.).
  • Proactively embrace RMA’s mission and values.
  • Responsible to administer and abide by all of RMA’s information technology policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 

  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, with association context a plus
    • Effectively interacts with/influences staff senior leaders and board management
    • Strong personal leadership and communication abilities – while empowering others to grow and deliver results, developer of people & an empowering manager.

  • Skills
