Product Marketing Specialist

This position is responsible for both the strategic and tactical aspects of RMA’s product sales for both existing and new products.  In this role you will understand and leverage the competitive landscape, collaborate with RMA product owners to create compelling value propositions that will retain and attract new customers and work with the sales team to ensure they have the tools necessary to support selling our products.  Using your creative writing skills, you will create thought leadership content (blogs, whitepapers, web content, etc.) to drive the demand for our product and training offerings.   
Primary Responsibilities  

  • Drive product marketing for RMA’s core suite of business solutions and training programs, including research, positioning, content, and campaign development in order to generate demand.
  • Know inside and out our market and be the expert on our buyers – who they are, how they buy, and how they get influenced. Analyze and segment the market, identifying targets and messaging for each product. 
  • Understand the competitive landscape. Be an expert on our competitors and how they position and price their products and offerings. 
  • Collaborate with product managers and internal subject matter experts to develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates our products in the market; create original thought leadership content, in the form of blogs, white papers, webinars, web content, videos, and industry presentations. 
  • Craft compelling messages for specific key personas, aligned to the buyer and customer journey
  • Supports the planning of new product launches and releases of existing products and the crossfunctional implementation of the plan.
  • Communicate the value proposition of products to the sales team and develop the sales tools needed to support selling our products; Understand and support sales channels; train the sales team to solve issues for our buyers and users; develop internal tools and external collateral and teach them how and when to use it.
  • Work with your team members to constantly assess the effectiveness of the marketing programs that support the products on an ongoing basis, and report back to the business on required changes.

Education & Experience Required 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of product marketing experience in a marketing-facing role (e.g. delivering presentations to customers and prospects, conducting competitor analysis and market research)
  • Domain knowledge of banking, finance, payments, or other closely related industries, either in the finance or software industries.
  • Proven success in marketing, positioning, and evangelizing complex B2B products to high level audiences and tracking ROI to prove what is and is not working. 
  • Comfortable using collaboration and CRM tools such as Microsoft Teams and Salesforce and familiar with marketing automation tools such as Marketo, Pardot, and Google Analytics.
  • Strong writing skills demonstrated by examples of written publications, white papers, industry presentations and similar thought leadership publications.   
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties. Team player!
