RMA Foundation Scholarship Application Window Opens September 9

Each week, “Focus on RMA” highlights a piece of RMA that makes it valuable to members and the industry. This week, we take a look at the RMA Foundation Scholarship.

Students in an undergraduate program who are interested in working in the banking industry after graduation can apply for an RMA Foundation scholarship. The application period for a 2019-2020 RMA Foundation Scholarship opens Monday, September 9 and closes Monday, October 21.

RMA is committed to supporting the next generation of bankers through the RMA Foundation, which awards over $200,000 annually in scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $8,000. Since the RMA Scholarship was created in 2015, the Foundation has awarded 331 scholarships totaling over $867,000.

Scholarship recipients are selected based on merit with the following factors:

  • Demonstrated interest in the banking industry; examples include previous employment in a bank, RMA student membership, involvement in their local RMA chapter, academic studies, internships, etc.
  • Academic achievement.
  • Participation and leadership in community and school activities or related work experience.
  • Statement of career goals and objectives.

In addition to the scholarships, RMA provides free student membership to banking-focused undergrads, which includes benefits such as a subscription to The RMA Journal, access to the RMA Xchange online member community, and invitations to attend RMA chapter meetings and workshops.
