Chief Audit Executive
Sr. Executive Vice President and Chief Audit Executive Kandace Heck leads an organization of over 300 employees who assure, advise, and anticipate risks for U.S. Bank. Since joining the company in April 2017, Kandace has been committed to enhancing the internal audit program and increasing collaboration with regulators. Under her leadership she has advanced U.S. Bancorp’s audit capabilities, processes and talents to become a best-in-class audit team.
Kandace has evolved our audit strategy to align with our corporate strategy. As our company advances our digital strategy, she ensures her team is providing insights to the business and delivering value that impacts the organization in new and different ways. She fosters an appropriate balance of collaboration with business partners on new initiatives, such as CECL and the CARES Act, while maintaining an objective viewpoint that is critical to an effective internal audit function. She has implemented key improvements, including enhancements to the internal audit methodology, use of data analytics, department culture and risk assessment processes.
Kandace has over 30 years of experience in accounting and auditing in the banking and financial services industry. Prior to joining U.S. Bancorp, Kandace served as General Auditor for Northern Trust Corporation. Kandace spent 18 years with Goldman Sachs in the U.S., Europe and Australia in various controllership roles supporting corporate and business line areas and in internal audit. She began her career with Deloitte & Touche, working both in the U.S. and overseas.
Over the course of her career, Kandace has been engaged in the community, serving on various boards including community theater, public libraries and organizations committed to improving women’s workplace and economic advancement.
