Senior Vice President and Credit Executive
Credit Risk Management
Mary Murray is the Credit Executive responsible for risk management oversight of Key’s $13 billion Institutional Real Estate Capital portfolio which includes Healthcare Finance (focused on seniors housing and long term care) as well as the Institutional Real Estate Group. She has been the credit partner for the Healthcare Finance team since 1999 and took on bank wide oversight of healthcare credit risk as Enterprise Healthcare Risk Manager about 10 years later. At the time Key had begun to develop healthcare sales teams in various lines of business and needed a forum to measure and manage credit risk across the bank as well as to share ideas and best practices for consistent underwriting. This forum has now become the Healthcare Concentration Committee which brings together line and credit representatives for each primary line of business. Currently Key’s healthcare exposure totals $10 B of commitments, of which about 70% is to providers including hospitals, seniors housing and skilled nursing operators, and physicians.
Previous experience with Key includes business development roles in several corporate banking and middle market areas. Mary joined Key (AmeriTrust) in 1985 from Bank of New England’s National Accounts Group. Prior to that she was associated with Chemical Bank where she completed credit training and joined the Financial Institutions Group. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in finance from the University of Virginia.
