Matt Kramer

SVP, Climate Risk Executive

Matt is the Climate Risk Executive at U.S. Bank, responsible for leading the coordination of all risk management activities related to climate risk.  Matt’s role fits within the Risk Management & Compliance organization, and he collaborates with risk leaders across all spectrum of the bank’s risk management framework.  This role was created in August 2021 and he is in the process of constructing his organizations design and focusing on building out the foundational elements of climate risk into our existing risk management framework.  Before this new role was created, Matt spent the past eight years designing and leading various elements of the company’s Enterprise Risk Management program.  Prior to U.S. Bank, Matt spent eleven years in the Risk Advisory consulting practice at Deloitte, focusing on risk management and internal audit services for clients in the financial services industry. 

Matt is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.  He is a Certified Internal Auditor through the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and a certified Sustainability & Climate Risk Professional through the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). He currently resides in the Twin Cities, Minnesota.
