Melinda Davis Lux

Melinda Davis Lux serves as an Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for United Community Bank. In this role, Melinda serves as a key member of the leadership team and oversees the legal, compliance, and community development departments.  Melinda has significant M&A, transactional, regulatory, and strategic involvement and works closely with the company’s Board of Directors.  Prior to joining United Community Bank, Melinda was a partner and Global Board Member of Womble Bond Dickinson International, where she had more than 20 years of experience advising clients on Board governance matters and M&A transactions.   

Melinda is involved with a variety of professional organizations, including the American Law Institute and the American Bar Foundation, and serves on the Board of Directors of Upstate International and Build Carolina, both non-profit organizations. Melinda holds a Master of Laws in Taxation from the New York University School of Law, a Juris Doctor degree from Yale Law School, an MBA from Clemson University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Wellesley College.
