At 10:00 AM the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs will meet in Executive Session to consider the following nominations: Jeffrey Nadaner, to be an Assistant Secretary of Commerce, Department of Commerce; Claudia Slacik, to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Export-Import Bank; and Thelma Drake, to be Federal Transit Administrator, Department of Transportation. The Committee will then meet in Open Session to conduct a hearing entitled: “The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Semi-Annual Report to Congress”. The sole witness will be Kathleen Kraninger, Director, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

At 10:00 AM the House Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing entitled: “Holding Megabanks Accountable: An Examination of Wells Fargo’s Pattern of Consumer Abuses”. The sole witness will be Timothy Sloan, President and CEO, Wells Fargo & Company.

At 10:00 AM the House Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing entitled: “Preparing for the Storm: Reauthorization of the National Flood Insurance Program”. Witnesses will include: Maria Lamm, South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, on behalf of the Association of State Flood Plain Managers; Christopher Heidrick, Heidrick & Company, on behalf of the independent Agents Insurers and Brokers of America; Velma Smith, Senior Officer, The Pew Charitable Trusts; Mabel Guzman, Broker, @properties, on behalf of the National Association of Realtors; Collin OMara, CEO, National Wildlife Federal, on behalf of the SmarterSafer Coalition; and Raymond Lehmann, Director of Finance, Street Institute.

At 2:00 PM the House Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing entitled: “Promoting Corporate Transparency: Examining Legislative Proposals to Detect and Deter Financial Crime”. Witnesses will include: Jacob Cohen, Former Director, Office of Stakeholder Engagement, FinCEN; Dennis Lormel, CEO, DML Associates, LLC; and Amit Sharma, CEO, FinClusive.

At 9:30 AM the House Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing entitled: “Putting Investors First? Examining the SEC’s Best Interest Rule”. A witness list has not been provided.

At 10:00 AM the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs will hold a hearing entitled: “Financial Stability Oversight Council Nonbank Designations”. Witnesses will include: Douglas Holtz-Eakin, President, American Action Forum; Paul Schott Stevens, CEO, Investment Company Institute; and Jeremy Kress, Professor of Law, University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
