At 10:00 a.m. the House Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing entitled “Legislative Proposals to Help Fuel Capital and Growth on Main Street.” Witnesses will include Brett Paschke, managing director, William Blair, on behalf of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association; Edward Knight, EVP, NASDAQ OMX; John Coffee, professor of law, Columbia University Law School; Barry Hahn, CFO, GlycoMimetics, Inc., on behalf of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization; Barry Eggers, founding partner, Lightspeed Venture Partners, on behalf of the National Venture Capital Association; Tyler Gellasch, executive director, Healthy Markets Association; and Thomas Quaadman, VP, Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness, U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

At 2:00 p.m. the House Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing entitled “The Impact of Autonomous Vehicles on the Future of Insurance.” Witnesses will include David Carlson, U.S. Manufacturing & Automotive Practice leader, Marsh & McLennan; Ryan Gammelgard, counsel, Public Policy Resource Group, State Farm Insurance; and Sam Geraci, VP, American Family Mutual Insurance Company.

CFPB ISSUES UPDATED SMALL ENTITY COMPLIANCE GUIDES RELATING TO TILA-RESPA RULE UPDATES

On May 15, 2018, the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection published updated Small Entity Compliance Guides and Guides to Loan Estimate and Closing Disclosure Forms, reflecting changes to both the 2017 and 2018 TILA-RESPA rules. These guides can be found here.

FRB AND OCC EXTEND COMMENT PERIOD FOR PROPOSED RULE TAILORING LEVERAGE RATIO REQUIREMENTS

On May 18, 2018, the Federal Reserve Board and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency extended until June 25, 2018 the comment period for their proposed rule that would tailor leverage ratio requirements to the business activities and risk profiles of the largest domestic firms. Comments were originally due on May 21, 2018.
