Information technology is the single biggest factor contributing to an institution’s future, altering the status quo and prompting rapid and transformational changes in strategies, operating models, and customer relationships. In Navigating Information Technology in the Boardroom, authors Dean A. Yoost and Bernard F. Mathaisel show how directors can elevate their game in the oversight of IT, outlining concerns and issues in the most important areas of today’s ever-changing IT world.

Dean A. Yoost is a board member of both MUFG Union Bank and Pacific Life Insurance Company. He also serves as an advisory committee member of American Honda Finance Corporation. Dean is a retired partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he spent 33 years and served as one of 18 partners elected to PwC’s Global Oversight Board.

Bernard F. Mathaisel (Bud) is a consultant to boards and management on information technology. He serves as an advisory committee member of American Honda Finance Corporation, and served as the CIO at Ford Motor Company and The Walt Disney Company, as well as a senior executive for other leading companies. Bud is an American Sailing Association certified skipper.

The book consists of four parts:

Part 1 – Setting Course Corrections

Part 2 – Captaining the Oversight of Risk

Part 3 – Calibrating the Board’s Oversight Compass

Part 4 – Voyaging Toward the Horizon
