  • Identify the format and content of financial information presented in the four basic financial statements.
  • Identify common disclosures included in the footnotes to the financial statements.
  • Identify and describe the nine steps of the accounting cycle.
  • Explain how transactions have a dual effect on the accounting equation.
  • Explain the relationship between accounting’s revenue and expense recognition principles and the adjusting process


The Accounting and Financial Statements Refresher course materials include two cases (Sample Credit Files) on two companies. Learners will refer to and use these sample files to learn and practice their analytical skills. Financial statements, spreadsheets, and supplementary financial information are provided in the Sample Credit Files. Learners will refer to the Sample Credit Files as they study illustrations and as they analyze liquidity, leverage, profitability, and cash flow, just as they would refer to an actual credit file when analyzing a potential borrower.
