Previous Employment: A banking professional with 33 years of experience, Norton assumed her role as board member of Credit Suisse AG in July 2022 where she also serves on the risk committee and the compensation committee.
Norton retired from her role as senior executive vice president and chief risk officer at Wells Fargo in June 2022. In this role she led the company’s independent corporate risk function and risk oversight activities, including credit risk, market risk, operational risk, compliance risk, information security risk, and conduct risk.
Norton joined Wells Fargo from JPMorgan Chase & Co., where she was chief risk officer of consumer and community banking from November 2013 until June 2018, responsible for risk oversight for home lending, card services, auto finance, business banking, consumer banking, and payments. While at JPMorgan Chase, she also served as chief risk officer for home lending from October 2011 until November 2013. Norton, who spent the first six years of her career at Chase Manhattan Bank, previously served as a market and credit risk executive at Ally Financial Inc. and also spent 14 years at Bank of America Corporation in various roles.
Education: Norton graduated from the University of Bath in the United Kingdom with a degree in mathematics and statistics.

At Bath University, Norton established a scholarship for female students pursuing mathematical sciences, and a scholarship for those pursuing a PhD in mathematics.
